Seagulls in the Sun

What would a trip to the coast with out some more picture of my wonderful friends, the seagulls.

This was taken in mid-afternoon just a few days ago using a Kodak 800 series digital camera. It was cold and windy, right around freezing and well below freezing with the wind chill, but never too cold for the ever hungry gulls.

Our Newest Family Member

The below images are of our newest family member during our recent trip to coast. She is a Blue Heeler Mix and as you might be able to tell, she is chocked full of energy.

We adopted her about three weeks before Christmas from one of the only non-kill humane societies in our state. This is the same facility my daughters and I volunteer at twice a month. There has been some time of adjustment, but we just love her to death. We just got back from the coast and she is now sleeping, exhausted from all the fun she had.

The first four images and the last image were shot by me, my wife shot the other three.

The Barn

This photo added a nice rustic look to an otherwise pencil drawing I drew a year ago.

Stretching Out

This photo was taken using a Kodak 800 series digital camera and a slice of bread.

I love seagulls, if you couldn't tell by the number of photos I have posted of them... which is a small fraction of the total number of them I have.

Coming Soon To A Park Near You - Spring Joy

With the exception of the for the prozac overdosed blond girl on the far right, everyone at the park is absolutely excited about something on this fine Spring afternoon.

From Sliding, running, to an exuberant reaction to something that only she can see... everyone is having the time of their life. Then there is the girl who appears to have had her dog kicked by a golfer just before I snapped this photo.

Regardless of her under-joy, Spring is coming sooner than you may think and Spring time means fun for everyone... save blonde and maybe her dog.

Cloudy Mountians

I drew this using only two types of pencils and a stubby, an H2 for the clouds and some mountian shading and an H9 for the darker moutian shading and created a two toned image which contrasts well. It is simple, but I liked it.

Stormy Mountian

Below is a new drawing I drew the other night. I photographed it and then used photo editing software to make a high contrast version, which better represents the contrasts as they appear on paper (as the unedited version fails to truly capture the contrasts). I included both as an example of the difference.

Larakeet At Large

For my first photo posting of 2008, I thought I would start with one of my personal favorites. This photo was taken at our local zoo's Larakeet Aviary using a Kodak 800 series digital camera.
